Christmas In the City

Christmas is positively in the air in the city of San Jose, Costa Rica. Everywhere is decorated and has been since the beginning of November ( some places started decorating as early as September, when all the left over goodies were onsale from the year before.) However, the greated part of this holiday season is getting to share it with friends!

Cake, Candles, and Christ!

Our Small Group Bible Study
Well, it is not everyday that there just happens to be a cake laying just incasethere might be a "new spiritual birthday" to celebrate, but in Pascual's case there was! I had brought a cake for Tiffany, one of the other missionaries who helps me lead the bible study, today is her 38th birthday. However, she got to share her birthday party with Pascual, who now has a spiritual birthday because he accepted Christ last night, in his very own living room! He had been very close for a week ( we meet Saturday or Sunday at 7:00 at his apartment), he had been sharing with us how God was talking to him and loving on him more a more during the last month but he just could not let go of the fear timidness he had inside, and confess with his mouth that Jesus was Lord in front of us but last night after a discusion on Roman's 10, he did. With tear in his eyes, refused to pray in a sepeate room, he new he needed to share it with his family and new friends so he did it aloud in his living room. I was so happy to see the difference in the level of confidence he had in us after he prayed this prayer, any doubt he had or issue with mistrust, was gone. God is so good. Pascual and his wife Jasmina now both now are believers and have the foundation to raise their daughters in a Christian home and reach out to their neighbors and co-workers.

Who is a missionary?

We are all missionaries, we just have different fields of service. What is yours? I am an international missionary, I get to meet people of all different nationalities and become friends with them, you can too. No matter where you live or what you do our world is very diverse and there are people who need Jesus all around us, reach out to them!
